Deacon John Yaquinta was born on July 6th, 1959 in Smithers, WV. He is the third of four children (one boy and three girls). Deacon John grew up in a traditional Italian family of Catholic faith. He attended high school at St. Joseph Preparatory Seminary in Vienna , WV, earned a BS in Computer Science from WVIT, and a MS in Software Engineering from WVU. He worked for 14 years in Rockville, MD before moving back to WV and being a member of All Saints parish in Bridgeport for 20 years, serving as Youth Director and Director of Adult Formation. He currently works full time as a software engineer. After five years of study, provided by St. Meinrad’s Seminary in Indiana, he was ordained a permanent deacon on May 7, 2016.

Deacon John was assigned to St. Francis de Sales parish in Morgantown after his ordination. He was then assigned by Bishop Mark Brennan to Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish on November 1, 2019.
John works as a contractor for the FBI and Carla is a dental hygienist at Hazey Dental Associates. They have two children (Tony and Gina (Nathaniel) Lutyens, and two grandchildren, Jimmy and Elsie Lutyens.
